CABINETS
Cabinets serve a myriad of practical and decorative purposes and can be utilised in almost every room in a house, office or workshop.
Some of my cabinets have been constructed from recycled materials with the ‘warts and all’ flaws of recycled timber complemented by the beauty and craftsmanship of the finished piece; some from beautiful wide boards of select timber.
All of my pieces are of my own design and are usually of contemporary style. Many offer a passing nod to the designs of James Krenov, whose cabinets have influenced a generation of woodworkers. I particularly like wooden hinges for their beauty and contribution as part of the overall aesthetic of the object. For the same reason I usually avoid door handles as so many of the commercial variety can jar with the cabinet on which they are mounted.
