Lid: Red Gum veneer with Shining Gum (Eucalyptus nitens) and Australian Red Ceder (Toona ciliati) highlights.
Internals: King Billy Pine (Athrotaxis segaginoides).
Lining: Pure wool felt.
Two different grain patterns within the same colour provide subtle variety between the lid and the body of this peice. The ceder strips in the lid and the use of King Billy internally continue the red colour, albeit in darker and lighter tones. Shining Gum and the internal lining provide sharp contrasts.
The box is finished with a single pack lacquer for hardness and a final application of "Renaissence" wax gives a warm glow and tactile feel.
